Hardworking families have tightened their belts for years. It’s time Salem did the same.

Respect the voters on taxes — This May, Oregonians voted overwhelmingly to reject Salem’s gas tax, payroll tax, and vehicle fee increases. I’ll respect that vote: no new taxes without proving efficiency and results first.
Fight runaway utility bills — Residential electric rates have jumped more than 50% in five years — six straight years of increases. I’ll push for real ratepayer protection and stop shifting big users’ costs onto families and seniors.
Keep tolls off I-205 — Clackamas County spoke loudly against tolling our daily commute, and I’ll make sure Salem never quietly brings it back.
Demand accountability for every dollar — Audit before you ask. Every agency should show measurable results before asking taxpayers for another dime.

Back our police and first responders — Give our police and first responders the resources, training, and respect to rebuild community policing and restore trust.
Accountability that protects victims — Common-sense reforms that deter crime, hold offenders accountable, and put victims — not offenders — first. We don’t have to accept Portland-style crime spreading into our neighborhoods.
Reforms based on experience, not ideology — As a detective and hostage negotiator, I learned that results come from balance: firm enforcement plus proven intervention. I’ll bring that balance to Salem’s public safety debates.

A home of your own shouldn’t be out of reach for working families in our district.

Cut what government adds to the price — Excessive fees, permitting delays, and red tape can add six figures to the price of a new home. I’ll cut the costs government itself creates.
Build more homes people can buy — Support responsible development that increases supply of all housing types, with a focus on starter homes working families and first-time buyers can actually afford.

Compassion works best when it’s paired with clear expectations. Endless enablement isn’t kindness — and it isn’t working.

Compassion with accountability — A hand up for people facing genuine hardship; accountability for chronic criminal behavior. Reduce encampments and restore livable neighborhoods.
Real treatment for addiction — Treat the opioid crisis as the emergency it is. Expand recovery programs that work, and pair treatment with responsibility.
Mental health care that delivers results — Fund evidence-based mental health care — including prevention and inpatient capacity — as a smart alternative to the jail cycle. Measure outcomes; end programs that fail.

Strong schools are the foundation of opportunity — and parents are partners, not spectators.

Outcomes first, families involved — Invest in proven pathways from early learning through career and technical training and higher education, with transparency for families and real accountability for results.
